Radio frequency therapy in anti-aging - the reset for face and décolleté

Below the threshold of invasive interventions, radio frequency therapy is certainly one of the most effective anti-aging therapies of all today, and it is also absolutely gentle and safe.

Radio waves release their energy in a targeted manner in the middle layer of the skin and initiate the long-term formation of collagen there. As a result, wrinkles and skin imperfections are padded – the face shines with youthful freshness.

Sofortige Wirkung – Nachhaltige Verjüngung der Haut

Venus & Apoll is one of the pioneers of this anti-aging technology in Berlin and has a corresponding amount of experience with this form of therapy. With the latest generation of RF systems, we can now carry out your treatment even more gently and considerably more effectively.

With radio frequency therapy, two mechanisms of action interact in an ideal way. First, the skin is tightened immediately, as a result of which new collagen is formed in the connective tissue, which initiates a long-term rejuvenation process of the skin. Your skin will be noticeably and visibly rejuvenated in the long term.

The results of radio frequency therapy are visible for around 12 to 16 months, often much longer.

How does radiofrequency therapy work in detail?

Originally used in the 1980s for the non-invasive treatment of varicose veins, the potential of radiofrequency technology for wrinkle reduction was only discovered later.

Warming

The rejuvenation of the skin is initiated by heating the dermis between the upper and lower skin, where the collagen fibers are located. This warming does two things:

Immediate effect

On the one hand, the collagens contract (shrinking). The result is an immediate tightening effect that lasts for a few days.

Sustainable tightening

On the other hand, those cells within the dermis that are responsible for the formation of connective tissue (fibroblasts) are stimulated to produce collagen.

Durability

A process that begins after about 7-10 days and continues for several months after treatment. This causes the lasting tightening of the skin.

The effect lasts between 12 and 16 months.

Radio frequency as the silver bullet in anti-aging

Lasers have also been used in the past to achieve the same effect. However, it has been shown that the use of a laser for the desired effect does not offer any additional benefit, but rather only increases the possibility of side effects due to the greater use of energy.

In contrast, radio waves release their energy where resistance is highest. In the skin, the highest resistance is in the dermis, i.e. the place where the collagens required for skin tightening are produced. That is why treatment with radio waves is currently the silver bullet among anti-aging methods.

How is the treatment going with radio frequency therapy?

Before treatment

Before treatment

In a previous consultation, before the start of treatment, you will be informed and explained in detail about the course of treatment with radiofrequency therapy.

During treatment

The main characteristic of radio frequency therapy is the gentle and pleasant form of treatment. During the sessions, a probe is passed over the skin, which allows the radio waves to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin.

As a rule, a slight warming of the treated area is felt, but this is mitigated by the use of a cooling gel. Occasionally, slight reddening occurs, which is usually visible for less than an hour and never longer than 1-2 days.

After treatment

All normal activities can be resumed immediately after treatment. Sun exposure does not have to be avoided after the therapy. There is no pigment irritation.

The number of treatments always depends on the desired result. However, three to four treatments are usually necessary, at intervals of two to four weeks. The duration of a treatment, depending on the body region and the extent of the treatment, is 30 to 60 minutes.
